Q:  Can someone who is my (age, weight, gender, etc) really do it?

A:  Boot Camp is for almost anyone who wants to lose fat, get in shape, and keep the muscle.  We've trained people in their 20s to 60s, from 120 lbs to over 250 lbs.  Our coaches know how to adapt the exercises to accomodate injuries, surgeries, and those who may be very out of shape.  Boot Camp is not a fashion show or a fitness competition, it's an effective way for you to get into top shape in a matter of weeks.

Q:  How hard is it?  How long is the commitment?

A:  Boot Camp will get your heart pumping!  The exercises are not hard or complicated, and can be modified so that anyone can do them, but it's not an "easy" workout.  You will work up a sweat and be breathing hard, and we follow the guidelines published by the Centers for Disease Control on the recommended minimum for weekly exercise.  We start out easier, and work up to harder levels as we get fitter.  Each workout starts promptly on time, and lasts about an hour.  We work out five days a week, in cycles of twelve weeks.  The average length of time to get to your goal weight depends entirely on how much body fat you currently have and how dedicated you are to following the program.  Most of our clients lose 20-25 lbs during the 12 week period.  We do recommend that you visit with your doctor before beginning any exercise program.

Q:  What if I have other commitments during the week or go on vacation?

A:  No problem!  We have a special set of workouts that don't need any weights or equipmet, and even have a special diet plan that allows you to enjoy your vacation without blowing all your hard work.  We do NOT advocate blowing off a workout, but occassionally something comes up and we understand that.  The recommendation is to unexpectedly miss no more than 4-5 workouts in the 12 week session.

Q:  Tell me about the eating plan.  How bad is it?

A:  Your meal plan will be customized to you and your metabolism.  We calculate a perfect balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats for you specifically, and we continually change it as you progress.  You'll never be hungry and you won't plateau.  It's easy to follow--no counting calories or trying to figure out how many grams of this or that.  You pick the meal plan you want to follow for the day, decide which options you want for the foods, and go.  The meal plan tells you what to eat, when to eat it, and how much to eat.  You are required to eat two cheat meals per week (whatever you want!) to keep your metabolsim burning fat.

The foods are all normal, inexpensive, healthy foods that can be eaten by the whole family.  We include things like chicken, steak, fish, vegetables, fruit, oatmeal, bread, brown rice, and potatoes.  You are allowed to drink caffeinated beverages such as tea and coffee if you wish.  We add protein powder shakes to make it easier to get all of your nutrition, and we even know where to get the best-tasting ones!  And don't forget those two cheat meals.  We can't live without pizza and ice cream, either.

Q:  Okay, you've explained a lot, but honestly, I'm a little scared.  Can I really do this?

A:  Here's a secret:  everyone who signs up for Boot Camp is a little scared at first.  No one wants to be the slowest, the heaviest, or the most out-of-shape.  But the thing is, we're all working so hard on our exercises that no one actually notices you except for the Coach, and our coaches are the nicest around.  No one is going to yell at you or announce your weight in front of everyone else or make you feel bad because you can't do something.  The goal is to get everyone in their best body ever, and we're just so excited to help you with that.  Everyone works at their own level and pace, and we don't all do the exact same exercises at the same time, like most classes.  It's a great way to work out and get in shape without feeling intimidated.
